SPEEDCORE Technology
The tire utilizes a new technology called SPEEDCORE, which is a patent-pending design. It involves the use of a layer of rubber compound mixed with aramid particles that cover the inner layer of the tire. This configuration offers greater flexibility, resulting in improved smoothness and cut resistance. The tire becomes less stiff but faster due to the enhanced rubber compound. The SmartEVO technology, which is shared with other high-performance PZERO tires, is also utilized in the compound.
Carcass
The unique SPEEDCORE design incorporates an aramid band within the tire's rubber layer, adding strength and support to the casing while maintaining a supple feel. This design provides minimal rolling resistance and maximum grip compared to tires with full bead-to-bead aramid construction. The tire also includes a 120tpi nylon casing for added puncture protection and maximum security.
Compound
The SmartEVO Compound used in the PZERO Race is a new formulation that further enhances the performance of previous road cycling compounds. The compound is the result of the manufacturer's experience in motorsport competitions and input from World Tour winners. This compound offers excellent performance in terms of grip, durability, and overall road cycling performance.
