MIN.D a different OPEN
The MIN.D frameset from OPEN is a departure from their usual "gravel" frames to a road focus while keeping the trademark OPEN design features and a less is more philosophy. OPEN created the MIN.D frame with performance in mind while keeping the classic road bike aesthetic. Simplicity is key with ultra efficient tubing, wide tyre clearance, and a continuous seat tube design. It may sound weird but the MIN.D mantra is "as little design as possible" simply because it doesn't have to be anything else.
New Road Handling
The MIN.D takes everything OPEN learned from their gravel bike on/off road experiments and puts it back into pure road bike geometry. With a sportive focus and the MIN.D frame has a realistic saddle-to handlebar drop. With a tyre clearance for modern road tyres up to 32mm and ultra efficient carbon tubing layup, comfort is assured, without overcomplicated unproven gimmicks.
Continuous Seat Tube
With a diameter of 25mm (instead of the usual 30mm) the uninterrupted continuous seat tube from the bottom bracket to saddle delivers astonishing comfort. There is no seat post slip here. OPEN's own minimalist slip proof seat tube clamp is almost invisible yet easily adjustable up to 15mm.
R-Turn Fork
The R-Turn uses the same Smartmount direct design-mounts as OPEN's proven U-turn fork, which accepts flat-mount calipers without the need for an adapter. So you can get your Shimano or SRAM flat-mount caliper, remove the standard adapter it comes with, and bolt it directly onto the fork. This saves weight and increases the stiffness of the braking system. At 335 grams (with uncut steerer) the R-Turn is the lightest disc brake road fork available.
Wire-Stays
Lateral stiffness in the rear triangle is required for an efficient drivetrain, but vertical compliance allows for better comfort. This frame features chainstays and seatstays that are exceptionally thin vertically to give you that compliance, whilst their lateral width and carbon fibre layup still ensure rock-solid propulsion. Truly the best of both worlds.
Minimalist Top Clamp
OPEN's custom seat tube top clamp with micro-wedge is barely visible, just the two countersunk set screws reveal the adjustment mechanism. For extra adjustment (15-35mm) OPEN has their MOCT (Measure Once Cut Twice) saddle clamp available separately.
Bottom Bracket
The MIN.D uses the 386 EVO pressfit bottom bracket standard. The wide (86.5mm) BB shell is perfect for a road frame. Furthermore, it fits most of the cranks on the market, from Shimano and SRAM but also smaller brands like THM and Rotor.
